   I thought that people here might be interested by the story at:

   (For those of you who don't read slashdot.org).   
      
   An approach to fighting cancer based on a genetically modified version of   
   the cold virus. The virus is targetted at cancerous cells and made a   
   bit more nasty.   
      
   To be a bit extremist/childish the possible implications of this could be   
   frightening, although I'm sure that an approach like this for viral   
   warfare has already been well researched.  (After all, military   
   applications always seem to be the driving force behind any seemingly   
   helpful technology.)   
      
   Still, in a positive sense this is an interesting approach and certainly   
   scores quite highly in the "cool use of genetic modification" stakes.
