Drugs have been discussed several times before in this group .. granted
the topic isn't as regular as others, but they're there.
I think the rarity of drugs as a topic has something to do with the fact
that they rarely 'define' cyberpunk in any spectacular or special way.
Drug use amongst the CP culture would be, in my opinion, probably about
that same as any other culture. But they aren't a defining point, nor a
required item for CPness of anything.

I'm not sure how to take this statement. At face value it seems
sarcastic, so that's how I'll actually take it.
But it begs the question .. are you less cool for not wanting to
chemically fuck up your perceptions? Do you get branded as some kind of
pariah because you don't use drugs of any kind? I personally don't use
drugs, not because they're illegal, or because I'm afraid of what'll
happen, I just don't use them. I've felt no need to do so, a lot like
I've never really felt a need to try motorcross, no real desire there.

Of course, the few times I have asked for drugs I have been denied. I my
brother had a bunch of speed, which he hated, and refused to give them
to me .. something about I'm scary-hyper enough without uppers. I dunno,
I might have enough chemical imbalances in my head without need for
outside help.
