Following anything deeply isn't cp, imo. I don't know what kind
of pathway cp could be, unless it's one that leads to the dire
condition of writing sf. As a social phenomenon, cp has been
pretty much confined to the internet and other media.

I agree almost entirely with what Bruce wrote in his cyberpunk
in the 90s article. What he terms 'bohemia', I've termed 'the
   counterculture'.

I can understand and sympathize with young Russians for just about
anything personally destructive they might do or have done, considering
the disorienting social condition they have experienced. But they
will have to come up with something better than dark gothic
moods if they want to alter their circumstances.

   The young Russians I know, of course, are immigrants in the US;
most are involved in sw devel, but not all -- I know shopgirls
and housewives who came from Moscow and Chechnya and stops
inbetween. They are probably the best educated and intelligent
grouping of people I've met. I hope all the Russians like
them are not leaving Russia. Such people are a sign of hope
   for me, you might say.

We knew, as well, mafiosi (the "Boris's" they're called here
-- or rather "there" when we lived back East), mostly thru
hw and sw aquisition. Now that I think of it, last year,
Russians organized a scheme to steal wallets from cars parked
in the national parks near us; they shopped the credit cards
   in Las Vegas. Very inventive.

I suppose there are people searching for cyberpunk (although here
they are usually searching for a definition of cyberpunk); they
can find it at Barnes & Noble. The .sig is a quote from a
   review of the film Pi.

But if you mean hacker-crime and setting yourself against
the state and its police. That's not cp. That is just stupid.

Or maybe I do not understand what your meaning.
