   The AfD is in strong opposition to ChatControl. Alice Weidel said in a   
   recent press conference:   
      
   "In exactly one week's time, on 14 October, the EU Council will vote on   
   the regulation on preventing and combating child sexual abuse. And   
   behind this regulation is nothing more than the comprehensive general   
   attack on central, civil and civil liberties through total surveillance   
   of all private communications. The planned EU-wide chat control is an   
   absolutely totalitarian project. It means the de facto abolition of   
   digital privacy."   
      
   It's basically the CDU/SPD that are in favor of it but now had to give   
   in because of public pressure.
