|    Usenet binary subs worth it?    |

From: idoru@national.shitposting.agency              Is paying for alt.binaries access really worth it in [current year]?              I've been getting a bit skittish with recent crackdowns on 'the web' etc       so I've looked into grabbing comics off usenet.              The argument I've seen used is: "all the newer stuff is released by       groups on usenet or DC++ first then it goes to other groups etc etc".              I've looking at indexers, NZBs for contemporary comic stuff is       pointless. It's quicker to user torrents or WWW hosted stuff. I've       grabbed releases that are fresh but still not indexed. Strictly cbz/cbr.       I'm not after movies, TV , music, pron.              Currently, Sabnzbd is set up to pull from usenet.farm and althub.co.za       is indexing. I'm reluctant to lay down any money on an indexer or other       service currently because I'm a bit underwhelmed.              Are all indexers 'the same'? I know there are several backbones that       services feed off, maybe I'm on one that is just a bit crap.              Ultimate use case: have a usenet set up that I can use to grab fresh       cbr/cbz releases as they come out without needing to check in on "the       usual suspect" sites on the www. Right now I can't find what I am       looking for on usenet.              Thoughts?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
