From: water@foun.tn              I would say that we should continue the work the tech ancients veered off of.       I remember browsing random forums and reading articles where there was       no begging for subs or linking Patreons or harrassing you to sub.       Today you can't read a single paragraph without finding some variation       of "buy my course" hidden between the lines.              Knowledge, the free flow of it, has become a lost art. Now it's drip-fed       with the hope of getting monetized.              I love the posts I see here from the people discovering usenet       groups or clients. Just figuring out how to post seems to bring so many       of us pure joy because it brings back, at least for me, that lovely       feeling of discovery.              Am not much of a blogger, but I plan to structure my thoughts into posts       as I learn or discover new things, and I hope to share them here in the       hope that others would do the same.              You can't post anything on /g/ without someone asking for the "use       case", but I trust that those posts without a purpose behind them, but       merely fueled by a desire to talk about technology and share one's       discoveries, would find echo and, dare I hope, discussion.              --       PGP ID: 0x99CEDBB24EB683BA46429E7FFBA4CB050D09A702              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
