   alt.folklore.computers tends to be the greybear hangout if you want to   
   char about the nuances of the IBM 704 and similar arcane matters.   
   Personally I was exposed to the wonders of FORTRAN IV, System 360/30, and   
   punchcards in the mid '60s and thought it sucked. When MPUs appeared   
   almost 10 years later it became fun.
