   It's not especially reliable, needs infrastructure to communicate at   
   meaningful distances (>1km), is limited to (short) text messages (200   
   characters or less, shorter messages are more likely to propagate unmangled),   
   and is principally used via cellphone    
   or PC. The firmware so far is not especially stable and the Android app is hot   
   crash-prone garbage.   
      
   What it's used for probably varies by region. Where I am the public traffic is   
   mostly social chit-chat by a group that's a weird mix of demographics.   
   Sometimes the furries just meow and yip and awoo at each other for an hour. As   
   furries do.
