   I suppose a self-hosted IRC server makes sense when the person hosting it   
   manages to make it stable i.e. reliable enough that its comparable to   
   using Rizon/Libera, otherwise I don't see a point in self-hosting.   
   Speaking of Tor, I would argue that Libera is preferable since they don't   
   outright ban Tor, unlike Rizon which does so.
