   In modern day, every shitty website has an account / notification system   
   to get new information.  If you want notifications for new content on 5   
   different sites, then you need 5 different accounts.  RSS lets you   
   centralise everything in a feed reader.  If you're using Thunderbird for   
   Usenet, then you can read feeds there.   
      
   I use RSS primarily for political substacks which I won't bore you with.   
     You can also use RSS to see when YouTube channels upload, like a   
   subscription without a Google account.
