|    Hi from 9front!    |

!Hi a.c.t,       If you see this, I'm posting here using 9front's newt(1) usenet       client. It's honestly pretty incredible how well this all works.       9front has a built in secure key storage system called       "factorum", where my usenet username and password are kept.       When I want to read the news, I run nntpfs(4) -a       news.eternal-september.org, which prompts me to add my details       to factorum, and then mounts the newsgroups to /mnt/news. Then       I run newt -f alt.cyberpunk.tech, which reads from /mnt/news,       and provides an interface to post/read from.              Honestly, dicking around in 9front has given me a real       appreciation for it. The real dedication to everything is a       file (eg, to change volume, you echo a number to /dev/volume),       the graphics and mouse centric design... Kinda sad that       Inferno didn't go anywhere, but at least 9front is still around.       It even supports The Front Ends Of Tomorrow - Power64 and       Itanium!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
