All of which have a far higher recividism rate than sex offenders.

And, of course, it's not only the former offender that is affected by
the registry. It is also his (or her) family, including children.
These quite innocent people are made to suffer for something for which
they were not responsible and was even unknown to them.

Worse still (if that's possible), the registry also identifies the
victims. Once the offender's identity is known, it is a simple matter
to find out the details of the offence. Then not only will little
Billy be attacked because his dad's an ex-con, he'll be attacked
because he had sex with his dad ("Bet you loved it, eh, queer?")

That is just as much abuse of children as some guy trying to get his
hand down their pants - or, indeed, beating them to a pulp, which is
all too common and those offenders are not registered anywhere.
