From: elfseeker@c2i.net              Just had the opportunity of seeing that movie the other day...       While it was of usual disney quality, I must say it had more faults than I       usually find there.       If that group were pirates of any surviving sort, I'll be a monkey god.       And 'Eris'??? Not that I know much about the divinities surrounding Sinbad's       supposed time, but I got this nagging suspicion that it was just a trick of       naming used as an excuse to have that extra bit of 'side-effect' sexual       incentive.       On the whole, a few good scenes hooked together by less than average       plot-elements.       I take particular exception to the siren-event and the immediately following       developments.       And the end? From the sound of it, I'd at least expected to have it be a few       days since last scene, but no...; all she has to do is stroll down to the       harbor and aboard.       And of course there were never any question that she'd do just that.       Pitiful. How 'bout the hero ending up as he started out, one of these days?       Y'know, -alone-?!? If we could get a woman tossed in that manages to dislike       him to the end AND BEYOND, as well, then we could finally start talking.       I also do not see why 'eris' bothered to stop his execution. No real       complaint mind, but considering what she had to know it'd lead up to, would       it not be easier simply to wait and yell at him as he arrived in her realm?       As for the book, I should think she could replace it in much the same manner       as she took it.(though, considering, she'd likely just toss it on the shore       to be found or not as the fates willed. |
