From: slider@anashram.com              ### - a lone tumbleweed rolls & blows through a now long deserted       shantytown       time feels suspended as the wind rises and falls...       whistling through streets now long cast in shadows       voices of ghosts rising and falling with the wind...                     and then this feint song...              It twas on a good ship called the Venus       And by-gawd you should've just seen us!       Its figure-head was this dude flat in bed       With a knot tied right in his penis!              Now the first-mate's name was 'ole chriso       who one-time forgot he's a wizzo'       But when the going got tough       He just never gave up       An' now everyone knows he's the bizzo!              In the galley EE and Robotica       Cooked the food we all know is right good-for-ya'       They weren't feisty or mean       And they kept the place clean       On their brooms as they laughed at the lot o' ya              Now the cap'ins real name was 'ole slider       He had eight arms and legs like a spider       But he liked to have fun       And boy geeze could he run!       It's as though he were built like a glider              In the crow's-nest above sits old wild-wings       Who's so high everyday that she... just sings       Of the much warmer clime'       In a far distant time       And of numerable, various, high-things              Now some 'fool' who was feeling the call       Had this hexhonodronical ball       But the cube of its weight       Plus his chopper times eight       Was three fifths of five eighths of fuck-all!              At the front on the prow sat Goofiche       who was reading Confucius and Nietzche       with one finger held high       he consulted the sky       and all he would say was "he-he hee!"              And the 'crow' (who was flying ahead)       Saw some rocks in the distance and said       "Look alive down below!       Or to hell we'll all go       Instead of our nice feathered beds!"              Then 'Dan' said, "it's all "heaven-sent!       And you all know that sex is 'my' bent       But he guessed there'd be trouble       When he shagged his own double       And instead of cumming... he went! :)              And as the sun on set that first day       And the sight of their homes slipped away       Well they sat down to supper       And roasted the skipper       They were all glad to be on their way              In the night there was sounded a bell       As the crew slept quite calmer and well       And they dreamed of their notion       To cross the great ocean       Avoiding the pitfalls of hell              Then a tiger appeared on the scene       And proceeded to lick the deck clean!       Rainbowbird stood there ready       Her broom held up steady       But relax, cawed the crow... it's a dream              Then we all smiled relieved he was right       And the Venus ploughed into the night       A ship full of schemers       And marvellous dreamers       Their tiger now burning so bright              With the dawn came a wonderful breeze       And they crossed the equator with ease       Sailing-on into morning       They thought of their calling       And the people back home on their knees              Tis' a wonderful life sang 'ole 'bob'       (As he munched a small corn on the cob)       For it's surely much better       To live without fetters       Or the sounds of the maddening mob              Yes your right! sang the crew in-accord       This is better than being... so bored!       For it... be-fits-our-dig-nity       To ex-plore-infin-ity       And together they heartily roared!              Now once when a storm set to blowin'       Darth wayne and Pete ross got to 'going'       As they wrestled and spat       Someone pissed on the 'Cat'       Who was hangin' around and 'Meee' ow-in'              So now 'bobby' was also along       And he whispered and sang his old song       But the crew stayed well-clear       Of its 'I's' and its 'fear'       And Goofichi kept ringing his gong              Then one morning as chriso awoke       He told us a dream of great note       In his flying quite high       He'd espied a 'great lie'       (All the crew held their breath as he spoke)              He had dreamed a great palace of gold       Built on sand and not rock 'as been told       And he'd watched it go down       Plus seen everyone drown       There were tears in his eyes as he spoke              On the deck of the Venus he'd dreamed       That the world all-around us is 'schemed'       Then before his grey eyes       "The deck's vanished!" he cried       "We're all walking on water it seems!"              For no Venus was there to be found       Just a gaping great hole in the ground       And above 'that' it seems       Is the place we all dream       Called the 'world' with its content and sound              So there's no need to fear one might die       For the world is ITSELF a great lie!       A great ship full of schemers       And marvellous dreamers       And above the great void we ALL fly!              So the Venus ploughed-on as before       T'ords a huge and incredible door       And they managed it still       Now by force of sheer will       To the gateway to freedom of yore              And of many adventures, i'm told       This brave crew who were strong and so bold       That i'm not really swellin'       But there ain't time for tellin'       Of all of their stories of gold              so.......              Late one evening they all felt the strain       Of a strange vibe again and again       And they knew without thinking       That something was coming       Twas a feeling that bordered on pain              Then the Cap'in his arms all a-whirl       Gave a shout that would make your blood curl       And without hesitation       No pre-meditation       They sailed off the edge of the world!              With a great crack of lightening they saw       A great huge and 'unreasonable' door       There it stood without motion       In the midst of an ocean       Twas the gateway to freedom of 'yore              Then with all of their sails full-unfurled       Off and into the dark-void they hurled       Way off into the south       Past a gaping great mouth       And then sailed through the crack in the world.              Now this legend will never be old       For it tells of the brave and the bold       Of their struggle together       To live life... forever!       The full-story can never be told.              --by slider 2004 or thereabouts :)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
