From: slider@anashram.com              ### - oh boy, with the law here now demanding that everyone who tests       positive for covid goes into isolation for at least 10-days, am getting       images of the uk literally slowly grinding to a halt as the huge tidal       wave of infections from omicron, now expected, literally forces everyone       into a self-imposed isolation right across the nation?              e.g., a few months ago it was 'truck drivers' & 'care-workers' we were       suddenly short of, there being a near crisis in filling these gaps enough       to ensure food deliveries and home-care throughout the uk... they were       even taking about bringing in the army!              but now, these very same shortages are gonna occur in just about EVERY       working sector across the land as more & more peeps become infected!?              i.e., not only will there be a shortage of food delivery drivers to       supermarkets but also no shop staff to serve anyone, even if they do get       through!?              and ditto this in just about every 'other' working sector in the land due       to peeps being forced into similar self-isolation as the infection spreads!              iow: 2 weeks or so from now the uk might very well look like a wasteland!       everything closed down due, not to another imposed lockdown, but to staff       shortages!              bungling boris gots one thing right though... that he'd "rather have       bodies piled high in the streets than another lockdown"?              you should have been more careful what you wished for boris as this could       very easily now come true, if not from deaths directly due to covid, as       you once imagined, but from the sheer lack of available services in every       sector in the land due to extreme staff shortages!              (this could actually get pretty serious! there'll be riots if there's no       food for example)              that while the army might do the food deliveries, will they also then be       the servers in the supermarkets as well?? plus what happens if/when the       army gets infected too??              so it looks like there's gonna be problems! and not only here in the uk       either!              gee thanks boris! and merry fuckin' xmas!              (he made a nation-wide tv address yesterday lookin' like shit (lol) to       tell us all this :)))              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
