   I'm sorry to hear that.  No one deserves to go like that, but go we   
   must and we generally don't get to choose how.   
      
   My mother died of the big C as you call it.  She was only 32 years   
   old.  Her sister, my favourite aunt, died of it too.  It was genetic,   
   a thing called mutated BRCA1.  Luckily, as I have two daughters and 4   
   granddaughters, I don't have the mongrel gene which only affects   
   females.  I had genetic testing which is free in this country.   
      
   Again, sorry to hear.  I hope her passing is gentle and she finds   
   whatever her faith or hope is on the other side.
