I couldn't agree more with everything you said. I was born and lived
for a good while where & when fluoride was a non-starter. Then, when
it did start, the conspiracy theorists talked all sorts of nonsense
about it and there was significant political risk involved. So,
youngsters' teeth rotted and by the time I was in my 30's, practically
every tooth I had was filled. Now, there are a lot absent but I still
have enough to chew with and as I look down the barrel of my 70th
year, I have healthy gums which means the teeth are easier to save.

One more implant, and that's it. I heard that the trials are starting
right now to grow new teeth and if successful, by mid-2030's it will
be available as a treatment. By then, I'll be either so old I won't
give a fuck or I'll (likely) be dead.

Yep had the works here too. One of my biggest regrets is not having
looked after my teeth more. But the coffee, alcohol, nicotine stains
would still make them look as old as they are even if I had looked
   after them. Ah, well...

Well, if I develop any form of dementia, it's goodbye charlie, even if
it is illegal here (assisted suicide, that is). I'll take the pills
or whatever before I become so wasted I won't remember where I put
   them :)
