|    Delta Dawn    |
|    10 Sep 05 06:35:53    |
From: deuman04@comcast.net              Delta Dawn              Helen Reddy sang the song "Delta Dawn". It peaked Billboard position #1 in       September 1973.              Last night's dream was again about my brother's September 2005 lung biopsy       surgery. When a dream reoccurs, the dreamer should take a good look at the       dream's message. The dream was again reminding me about blood brothers and       family ancestors. The freedom fighters and how they fought in wars and       protest marches. I wouldn't want to start from Michigan marching to New       Orleans. The traffic is heavy and I'd probably get splattered with my first       left turn. In Michigan, the hospitals are all medical monopolies. The better       treatment plans and antibiotic choice has never been available. For a       century, the USP has been dishing out bad medicine and the US Government       saying, "Job well done".              Who would go?              Quickly, I answered, "Uncle Jack from Tennessee, and all the WW2 freedom       fighters."              Not enough!              Again I thought and asked, "Could we start our Freedom fight in Vicksburg,       Mississippi? There's a lot of Freedom Fighters there."              Let's see what it sounds like.              The protest march would have a theme: "Give me medical treatment and       antibiotic choice, or give me Death!" The protesters would be walking       barefoot through the Vicksburg, Mississippi mud. They could have shoes in       the backpack, because it's a long walk over the bridge to Louisiana, then a       quick left and it's a straight shot to New Orleans.              Protesters can do a war dance stomping on the Mississippi mud while singing       the chorus.              Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on?       Could it be a faded rose from days gone by?       And did I hear you say he was a-meetin' you here today       To take you to his mansion in the sky-eye?              As we cross the bridge to Louisiana, we should be singing something       different.              She's forty-one and her daddy still calls 'er "baby"       All the folks 'round Brownsville say she's crazy       'cause she walks downtown with her suitcase in her hand       Lookin' for a mysterious dark-haired man                     We'll be over the bridge, singing,              Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on?       Could it be a faded rose from days gone by?       And did I hear you say he was a-meetin' you here today       To take you to his mansion in the sky-eye?              It's a straight shot to New Orleans.              In her younger days they called her Delta Dawn       Prettiest woman you ever laid eyes on       Then a man of low degree stood by her side       Promised her he'd take her for his bride              Oh, I didn't know that Helen Reddy was from Australia.              Delta Dawn is known on today's Interest as the "bring out the beer and stay       for the brawl song".              So, in the name of God, the Creator, I'll be drinking beer with the       Australia's and singing:                     Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on?       Could it be a faded rose from days gone by?       And did I hear you say he was a-meetin' you here today       To take you to his mansion in the sky-eye?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
