I am an experianced lucid dreamer and I have only had one case of
something like that. It was when i was still somewhat inexperianced
with lucid dreaming but what happened was:

I was sure I was awake lying in my bed but I started to feel something
pressing down on my body and I couldnt move. It was pushing down
especially hard on my legs. I started to get panicked and I tried as
hard as i could to move. Like you said it wasn't the same sensation as
waking up per say but I indeed returned to this reality.

When I woke up my heart was racing and I could feel my pulse all
throughout my body and I was sweating vigorously as well. The first
thing that comes to mind is a false awakening dream. When you believe
that you woke up but you are indeed still dreaming. Often times after
this happens your dream is much more vivid than before.

Now that I am a much more experianced lucid dreamer and can almost
always recognize when I am dreaming nothing like this has ever happened
again. I also have trained myself to be able to wake up in case of an
   unwanted dream.
