   The "meditative" state between waking and dreaming probably would work   
   best, since at least I find it harder to stay focused while in the   
   middle of a dream scene. Don't expect results instantly, in my   
   experience working with your mind takes time and patience. Keep at it,   
   and things will start changing the way you would like.
