While we are on the subject, I was recently speaking with a friend and
colleague about this very subject. I reluctantly brought up my interest in
dreams. (I'm sure many of you realize the reason for my hesitation. Not
very many others share our passion for the dream universe.)

She responded with excitement that she too enjoys dreams. I told her I had
made it my goal to dream lucidly on a regular basis, and she asked me what I
meant by "lucid". I told her, and she said she has been dreaming like that
for a while now! She had no idea what they were, just that she has been
able to make herself wake up when she is uncomfortable, like in a nightmare
for instance. She often realizes when she's dreaming, and can make herself
do things. And after all this time that I've been practicing, someone that
didn't even know the definition of it can do it naturally! I'm envious of
   her.
