   I actually aim for this type of 'intermediate state' when I want to do   
   dreamwork. Having my conscious mind at my disposal is quite useful if you   
   have a specific objective to pursue. Laura gave some good advice (as she   
   often does), you might also want to look in the FAQ for information about
