   Hi Eldon,

"I love you" too :), plus there's nothing to "worry about me", I know
what I'm doing, I've done it twice before. And I'm not "dreaming of
baked potatoes the whole fast", actually 'food' has been my last
thought/concern over the last twenty nine days (with a notable
exception, see below:). With the surprise benefit of suddenly having
plenty of time more than before, I mean, then it probably were at least
three hours that I used to spend daily on "dreaming", thinking about,
searching, finding, preparing and eating 'food'.

Now all of a sudden I'm free to use this spare time any way I like, so
I prefer to increase my physical activity. It came from within, I just
started exercising more now, which might by one reason for this feeling
I have of my muscles (joints,...etc.) getting stronger by the day. I
somehow feel in charge of (all 'parts' of:) my body. Yesterday evening
I even managed to beat my old speed record, that is, I finally took the
long 'track' and did sprint from start to finish; turned out much
easier than I thought, my fears (of "failure", explained in detail a
couple of posts ago) were to no avail.

{As an aside (reply to Slider's "9 days on water":) this time round I
also had just nine or ten 'pure' days only on water or tea (no sugar,
though, and no honey:) before I opted for more variety, i.e. added
apple juice every second or third day. The previous two 'marathons' it
happened a bit later, around day fifteen or sixteen, yet it might have
been orange juice then, I can't recall. Anyway, in all those instances
I did it for one main reason: not because I needed 'energy' or
something, but simply (i.e. mysteriously:) because the fruit juice puts
somehow a brake on the rapid process or weight-loss -- others call it
'cleansing', but since I'm not feeling dirty I have no need to get
'cleaner':). Moreover, I wouldn't like to attract unnecessary attention
or scare people, e.g. by turning skinny/scraggy/"anorexic" virtually
'overnight' (or in a week), thus if I notice I'm losing weight too
fast, as I did the first eight days, I just drink a miraculous glass of
apple juice, which immediately 'freezes' the 'cleansing' process, go
figure. After that my bodyweight remains more or less steady, for which
   I personally have no rational explanation, but do I have to.}

Well, so far so good with the fast, but unfortunately it has had an
extremely negative impact on my social contacts, I had to turn down
many a 'worthy' of invitations. Which I'm afraid cannot continue
indefinitely, I mean, while I still manage to find some original
excuses soon my small repertoire will be exhausted, leading to a
natural "break of my fast"... in fact much sooner than I'd like. It's
hard to explain but for whatever reasons people prefer to talk to me on
a table.. full of drinks and meals, say, in a restaurant or other
fashionable place: the more serious the conversation/occasion, the
posh-er the venue. It now looks ridiculous to me but it has become the
social norm, so alas, I have to comply with the 'regulations'... from
   time to time :).

As to your mentioning of (the craving appetite of:) the "potato
dreamer", despite its tragic end I found it funny, for yesterday (and
totally 'out of the blue', one may say:) I too dreamed of... a strange
dish -- cold cheese melting over hot/cooked beans -- no idea, will have
to give it a try some day.

   Best,
   Ann
