I notice a lot of friends will turn the TV on if       conversation slows down. That can become very unnerving, and I usually       drop a subtle hint to express my feelings. For example, "TV is the       devil-incarnate".              I can't help but compare it to the kind of autonomous reaction an infant       gets to flashing lights and loud noises. It's not a very cerebral       experience.              -Grant              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
