   That's why most advice tells you that you should get used to doing reality   
   checks all the time, so that they become a habitual action. The idea is that   
   if you are used to doing them all the time, chances are you will do them   
   even in your dreams. During such an automatic reality check, you will then   
   note discrepancies, which will spark awareness.   
   If you don't get used to doing reality checks, you have to rely on some   
   small measure of awareness in dreams in order to even remember doing them.
