   Just a small comment:

There is nothing inherently 'nasty' about sleep paralysis. In fact, it is
the most lucid dream state possible. That it does seem nasty to most people
is because they are alarmed by the fact that they can't move or control
their breathing, which then leads to the manifestation of
images/sounds/feelings of a dream nature (but seemingly real) to reflect the
state of being alarmed (i.e. somthing concrete is produced to be alarmed
about). This, as most self-reinforcing things, tends to spin out of control
and generally leads to utter panic and dread, as the fear grows and the
images etc. grow ever more frightening.
But it does not have to be so.
The very realization of what the paralyzed state is can be enough to put an
end to the fear. I suggest that anyone 'suffering' from sleep paralysis
'attacks' does a google search on sleep paralysis and reads up on the
matter. I did, and it put an end to 10+ years of terrifying experiences, and
ushered in a new era of spectacular lucid dreams, including many out-of-body
   experiences.
In sleep paralysis, the old saying applies most accurately; there is nothing
   to fear but fear itself.
