If you don't wake up before re-entering deep sleep, you won't have a memory
of the dream. If you wake up from the dream before it's finished, you don't
get to find out what would have happened next.

If you can do wake-induced lucids, you can sometimes get yourself back into
a dream that you wake up from, but it's a bit tricky.
