   Schizophrenics seem to have much higher rates of substance abuse than   
   just about any group. I don't have the link handy but I read that   
   people who drink have a higher rate of schizophrenia. Everyone knows   
   they have a higher rate of depression. AA specifically states in their   
   blue book that their program is not set up to help the mentally ill   
   although some do manage.
