|    Binaural and Stroboscopic    |

From: Davy1031@webtv.net              Has anyone here tried binaural or strobscopic (photic) stimulation? I       found binaural to be quite effective:              Alpha (8-13hz) is great for relaxing              Theta (4-7hz) is great for meditation / dreaming              Delta (.5-3hz) puts me to sleep quite quickly.              I have yet to really expirement with lucid dreaming, but I would imagine       the theta state would be a good place to start. Particularly the       4.5-7.5hz range seems good to induce dreams. And as far as stroboscopic       goes... I've seen some really intense colors, and some nice designs, but       no dreams or actual images. I'd say binaural is way better.              (Binaural is where you listen to two different frequencies in each ear       and your brain will be encouraged to adjust to the difference of the       two. For instance, playing a 400 in one ear and a 407 in the other, your       brain will want to adjust its waves to 7hz, the theta state.)              (Stroboscope/photic stimulation is where you stair at a flashing light       (with your eyes closed, so you dont blind yourself) at the brainwave you       want to be at... A light flashing at 10 flashes per second should       encourage your brain to move to 10hz waves, the alpha state.)              So if anyone has tried these for use with lucid dreaming, you should let       me know. Supposedly stroboscopic stimulation in the alpha range can       cause vivid images, the little talked about "dream machine". A random       note... Kurt Cobain (nirvana) owned a dream machine, and used it       regularly. Maybe that could help induce lucid dreams.              -D              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
