XPost: alt.magick, alt.magick.chaos       From: CoreyWhite@gmail.com               Buddhism teaches us to remove all thoughts at their source to still       the mind. The mind is formed through Prana, and all thoughts arise through       breathing. to still the mind your breathing must also be shallow. When a       person is asleep their breathing always has a natural apnea.               Apnea is when a person does not breath, or is breathing less than       usual. It is considered dangerous because some people stop breathing while       they are asleep, and it can be a serious problem. Some people also       condition themselves to undergo apnea. Free divers train themselves to       hold their breath for extended periods.               It only takes a minuet for a person holding their breath to fall       unconscious. Slowing your breathing to the point where you lose       consciousness intentionally is a challenge.               I have found that if I hyperventilate before holding my breath I can       go without air for much longer. While I lie in bed I focus on shallow       breathing that is usually very slow, and with periods of no breathing at       all.               It has taken a bit of time to get in the habit of breath-holding, but       this breath work is a wonderful way for me to fall asleep any time of day.               I have also been spending much time working on relaxation exercises       while hooked up to a EEG. Not wanting to force myself into an unconscious       state, the right atmosphere remains important.               The most challenging part of lucid dreaming is falling unconscious,       and when you spend as much time as you want unconscious and in dreams, the       only distinction you can make about what reality is, becomes where you       spend the most time.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
