|    2019/10/15 Tuesday: The Ides of October.    |

From: dicksilk@gmail.com              2019/10/15 Tuesday: The Ides of October....              It was on this night in 1981 that I was with Gina in her dorm room at MTSU.        As I laid down in her arms, I actually gave a prayer of thanks to God for       sending me the woman I needed to bare my children. And although she and I are       yet to be married, and        as far as I know she's not had any children, it turns out the 2nd woman I       married, Helen, was born on 10/15 (1960) AND the 2nd woman who bore me       children, Joyce, was also born on 10/15 (1987) so needless to say it's an       interesting day for me: the Ides        of October.              Dream in a Stream:              I (the dreamer) was actually IN a narrow stream, with a nearly subconscious       narration, or discussion in the background, having to do with the stream       having been bare of fish, but now there was a stream full of them, all having       flowed into my immediate        vicinity. I saw a fish much like a salmon, perhaps a foot long, with sharp,       piranha-like teeth, and easily pinched its tail between my right thumb and       index finger knuckle, and attempted to toss it up onto shore, but being in       the stream myself (as in        completely submerged within it) the fling only managed to toss the fish a       small distance away, yet it still remained within the stream. Now sure, I       could have probably picked another fish, but I felt I had to accomplish       something, so I moved up on this        fish, only I tried to get it by its body, and it made a flex to the right and       bit down upon my index finger, leaving a streak of scraped skin (actually       taking off the outer layer of epidermis) so in the next moment, I'm using my       lawn-work gloves and        holding it firmly around its mid-section. The fish realizes my gloves cannot       be bitten through, and becomes submissive, so to speak, in that it stops       struggling.              Although the dream basically ends at this point, I had some half-conscious       ideas on how best to transport this fish as if I were going to have it for       dinner, except a few semi-conscious thoughts began to surface, such as "What       if that's not really a fish,        but more of a symbol of a person's life force?" and that I really don't like       cleaning and gutting fish and beheading them and filleting them, though I sure       enjoy eating fish, but again, the idea of transporting the fish kept bothering       me, such as "       should I get a small tub and fill it with water?" I'm more of the opinion (as       I type this) that the fish was actually representative of my relationship with       Gina, and that I should probably consider what I do in my dreams a bit more       carefully,        especially concerning this next dream:              Discovered artifacts?              In no particular area, I (the dreamer) found 2 moderately sized hubcaps,       perhaps 6" to 8" or 9" across, with a kind of "GHIA" (reminded me of the VW       model, Carmen Ghia) across the center. They seemed to have a date associated       with them, of the mid-1930s        (like 1936) for some reason. There was also a third, much smaller cap, only       about 3" in diameter, and I was unable to decipher what it had on it. The       GHIA caps seemed Porsche-related, however, more than VW, although at one time,       IIRC, VW owns Porsche.        Regardless, I was feeling sort of in awe of these as exceptionally valuable       collector's items (such as for car restoration) but the more immediate urge to       take a hammer and whack them both was what occurred. Only they weren't dented       in like one would        expect: rather, they were "smushed in" as one might push in a button, such       that the center dome became flush with its tapered / sloped circumference.        When I awoke from *this* dream, I was very upset over what I'd done, as it       seemed wantonly destructive,        without purpose.              Another dream involved a wacky scenario regarding shopping (at say, a       Wal*Mart) along with a lesson on how to obtain things without having to pay       for them, along with another section on leaving a house / home while trying to       use a different exit method        while trying to set a house alarm. All very strange.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
