From: dicksilk@gmail.com              2020/02/02 Sunday (Palindrome Date):              Sorry I didn't post anything from the evening. I was a bit upset, as a verbal       / audible phrase that ran through my consciousness was that of my       (nonagenarian) mother saying, "It's gonna fail" (or "will" fail— sorry for       the lack of clarity here, but I        simply remember it being 3 words.) What upset me with this is the immediate       response I felt, that such a negative comment was indicative of a condemning       attitude, rather than a positive statement that would indicate support and       encouragement. As I came        awake, I became even more disturbed, thinking she may have been referencing       her body, or her heart, as her living number of days on Earth are far more       behind her now with far fewer ahead. That the day was *also* Superbowl Sunday       became more immediately        relevant, as we watched (somewhat, using DVR) the game between the San       Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs were down until the       4th quarter, at like 20-10, and Mom had given up, thinking the SF team had a       "runaway" game, but I started        rooting on the Chiefs, because modern day San Franciscans are mostly slipping       in their own feces on the sidewalks, and it's become a plague-infested city,       so I started imagining the SF team getting squashed like turds, slipping in       excrement, and their        quarterback, Garoppolo, being nick-named "Crappolo." Sure enough, the Chiefs       had a *tremendous* rally and *whupped* the '9ers 31-20! :) Technically, it       was an "upset," and the score is usually displayed SF-Chiefs, 20-31. Anyways,       such was my anguish        over "It's gonna fail" on "Palindrome day" (02-02-2020; the previous       palindrome date was 11-11-1111.)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
