From: dicksilk@gmail.com              2020/02/16 Sunday: The Collection?              There was a run-on suite of settings, such that the entire sequence seemed       like a common theme, although possibly with different plot-lines.              I believe the start had to deal with kids (roughly high school age) making       some type of fundraiser drive. In every instance, "I" means "the dreamer,"       because very little of this seems related to current, real life. "I" recall       scooping up loose change        from a series of vending type machines along a sidewalk or corridor.        Technically, this was a dubious method, because the intent was to raise money,       presumably from donors, but the act of raising money did not seem to preclude       to cleaning out of these        change slots, at least one of which had a hefty handful of coinage.              I was in need of transportation, when I spotted a young kid (6th-9th grade? a       small fellow) on a minibike (or VERY small dirt-bike) who was having trouble       getting it started. I figured I could "come down" to where he was (which       seemed to be out in a        field, whereas I seemed to be up on a wall, not unlike a city wall of old       where watchmen patrolled) and add my weight to the kick start and get it       running again, and possibly catch a ride to where I needed to go. Even a       small minibike can sport 2 people        seeing as how the driver seemed small. The only problem is, I started asking       him about the machine itself, and the thought current seemed to shift toward       it needing oil, so the bike was laid flat, and a large, round, flat, circular       metal disc was        rotated slowly as I tried to find how to check the oil on this baby (I'd been       looking for a dipstick of some kind but the action transitioned to this       wheel.) Note that this disc was located in the same place where on a       traditional bicycle there is a        main gear sprocket where the pedals and chain are located, but on this disc,       there were small, square-like markings in the cast of the metal, similar in       position to the numbers of an analogue clock face. I slowly rotated the disc       looking for places        where these squares might line up with something in order to present an oil       access of some kind, but no luck.              Meanwhile, the kid had made his way on foot to his home which was just right       there, leading me to the next scene, where I noticed I was getting rather       hungry, and knocked on a door (similar to a door inside a garage) whereupon       the door opened and I found        myself inside a kind of dine-in kitchen area. There was a table, and what       appeared to be a dad seated there and the kid's mom attending nearby, but she       was practically not even there. I saw a bunch of soup *on* the table in front       of the dad, as if a        rice and bean + chicken soup had been laid out on the table before him. I       asked if I might perhaps have some, and he drug a hand across it, as if wiping       his hand over and through every bit of it, and said, "Sure, help yourself!"       whereupon I felt        slightly repelled and said, "No, thank you."              The topic then switched to the need to get the kid back on his bike, or that       there was some sort of meeting where the collected funds were due, and we       needed to get there.              Scene switches to a school auditorium-like setting, and there appears to be a       group field-trip to a place similar to Rock City in Chattanooga, although the       similarity in feel is where the similarity ends. I've been to Rock City IRL,       and the only thing "       similar" in this dream was the parking area.              If you recall the two-vehicle problem presented in a recent dream, that       problem appeared present here as well, as if there were an extra car in the       parking lot that needed attending.              There may have been a bit more to this saga, but it's all evaporated now.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
