Re: 2020/03/18 Wednesday: The phone call from...?

It seems I may have failed to note what may be the most interesting "wrong
number" (???) I've ever received. I *thought* I'd written about this, but I
can't find it, so I'm making this post *just in case.*

I *believe* this occurred Wednesday evening, after supper, just kicking back
and watching the evening electronic campfire (television) when the phone
rang. Due to the peculiarity of the phone itself, it works best when one
waits for at least 2½ (3)
rings before answering, otherwise it gets super-screwy. So the caller-ID
shows up, but is only a phone number, not a person's name or business per se,
and I answer it. I sometimes will say "Sheriff's Department, Fraud Division"
   if I suspect a spam
caller is on the other end, but lately I've just been waiting a moment to
"sense" the other caller before saying anything (as there are so often
robocalls / bot recordings on the caller's end.)

After a slight pause, I answered, "Hello?"

   "Is Gina there?"

   "Who's calling, and why?"

   "I'm so sorry "

Now, to be honest, I likely sounded very suspicious when I asked "Who's
calling, and why?" because, well, I *was* suspicious. That's one hell of a
"wrong number" to make, considering who Gina means to me.

It didn't help that the caller sounded a LOT like myself, only with a clearer
voice (younger, perhaps? it certainly seemed to be prior to my brain damage,
which causes me to feel like I'm running on only half my vocal cords.)

The response ("I'm so sorry") left so much unsaid, yet still answered the
   questions precisely:

   1) Who's calling... "I am..."
   2) ...and why? "...so sorry."

This'll go down as one of the top 7 interesting (metaphysical?) events of my
   life.
