From: dicksilk@gmail.com              2020/04/03 Friday: Death of a Blacklight :'(               So I *had* about two really decent dreams this morning, and was almost at the       point of gathering them into conscious memory before waking, when there was       this abrupt CRASH in the living room, although I couldn't exactly tell WHERE       the noise came from.        My first conscious concern was for Mom's health, as she's 90+ years old, and I       heard her slightly pitiful cries coming from where I still did not known, and       so was instantly alert, if not alarmed, at having heard her sounds following a       rough, rumbly        crash sound.              I made it into the living room, to discover that she'd somehow managed to       *knock off* my 4' black light from the fireplace mantle to the fireplace       (brick) hearth which resulted (of course) in the end of the bulb getting       shattered. Although she sounded        penitent over having caused it to break, she seemed a bit peeved when I hopped       online and bought a replacement bulb on her dime. :-)              Meanwhile, there's a story behind that black light lamp and bulb: Mom       originally got it for me on my 14th birthday, so it had been kept from harm       and remained functional for roughly 45 years. I'd been using it to help       eliminate possible virus in the        living room overnight. I *showed* Mom how to toggle it off. She had to've       used excessive force to cause it to break. She's seemed to have a resentment       of it for some time. But tough. Meanwhile, all the dreams that were present       up to that point for        last night were instantly evaporated.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
