|    2020/05/29 Friday: driving in reverse /     |

From: dicksilk@gmail.com              2020/05/29 Friday: driving in reverse / electric extension cord (bodily nerve       system!)              There were a number of dreams, many with very little meaning, like driving       through a *relatively nice* neighborhood and seeing where someone had built a       *small* shack, kind of like they'd tried to recreate a cabin, only you could       tell it was a newly        constructed cabin. (We've got an *ancient* log cabin in our neighborhood in       real life, circa 1830 or thereabouts. The one in this dream looked like it       had been built maybe in the late 20th century, or even within the past 20       years. Since is was a "       modern" construction of an old cabin, it was clearly difficult to "date.")        But of more significance was the very odd dream of being in the attic of a       house. This one seemed very familiar (as in personal) and seemed like a mix       of the Asbury Lane        location (where I once lived) and a physical house (rather than a mobile home)       with an actual attic. I was *in* the attic, perhaps alone at first, then with       a larger number of people. As I've just finished sharing a post online in       Facebook, I'm fairly        certain I know what this dream is / was about: This morning, I did some       research on something called "piriformis syndrome" (where one of the butt       muscles needs a little stretching) also referred to as "fake sciatica." This       research allowed the *rest*        of this dream to make far better sense: In the attic, the dreamer (me) was       fascinated by this white, electrical extension cord that was extended through       the attic, along its length, from the left-ish (northernmost) wall toward the       right, where it had an        outlet such that anyone could plug anything into this cord if necessary at       that particular end of the attic. The momentary fascination / attention was       *directly* on the electric cord itself, but then the dreamer began ushering       people OUT of the attic,        making sure the dreamer was the last one to leave. (Kinda like saying, "OK,       now please leave me to my own world for now. Thanks for stopping by!") The       reason all this interested me, I suspect, is because of the non-stop nerve       issue I have running        along the left side of my body, as a result of the brain damage I received       back in 2013. I'm hoping that perhaps I can relieve some of the pressure on       the nerve that's affected. Maybe.              The other dream (what I consider to be of even more personal significance)       involved the dreamer (myself) behind the wheel of a vehicle (left-hand drive,       as I was born & raised in America) in a somewhat dark setting, *as if* it was       night outside, but this        was just "dark" rather than "nighttime." The driver (me) was on a slope where       the vehicle began to roll backwards (downhill) even though the car was OFF       (the engine was not running) and there *seemed* to have been *some small*       action, such as *possibly*        taking the car out of park, which released the gears / transmission connection       which had held the car in position on the slope. Here is where this gets       significantly more interesting. A female is in the passenger (right hand)       front seat. She seems *       very* much like Gina, as in even though this dream was only around clarity 7       due to the darkness, she seemed so much more distinct, like there's basically       no way for her to have been even remotely confused with someone else. From my       perspective, she *       was* Gina in this dream.              So the car's rolling backwards (not too fast, but logic and experience says if       left unchecked, the speed WILL increase and this may *certainly* cause an       accident!) and the driver / dreamer (me) is trying to stop the motion of the       car by using my right        leg / foot to press down on the car's brake pedal, but remember, the car       engine is OFF and as such, power brakes are not empowered, and I know from       experience that this requires *significant* extra stopping power in order to       apply enough brake pressure        to stop a rolling vehicle. So "I" (the dreamer) try pressing harder, I think       at least 2 more times, with little result, although the car *did* stop for a       *very* brief moment, then started rolling backwards again, as if the pressure       on the brake pedal        simply wasn't enough. The dreamer/driver (I) began saying aloud, "Step on my       foot" or something like that. If I had written this down RIGHT after waking,       I could have told you exactly what was said, verbatim, but that's exact phrase       has evaporated.        What I *can* record is that I repeated the comment at least two more times:        "STEP ON MY FOOT! STEP ON MY FOOT!" meaning I needed Gina to add her left       foot's pressure on top of my right foot's pressure in order to press the brake       a bit harder. For        whatever reason, I felt as if the pressure I (the dreamer) was exerting on the       brake pedal was simply *limited* in some way, but by her adding her foot to       the equation, just enough added pressure should stop the car, at least long       enough to safely shift        it back into park (or get the engine running, etc.) — the main thing was to       stop the car from rolling.              Now what happened next *was* clearly perceived within the dream, however,       trying to recall it in order to write this down involves a *tiny* bit of       evaporation, so this is the best I can recall, although it may be slightly       inaccurate: "I" (the dreamer)        took my right hand and "lifted" her left leg's slacks (?) at around just above       her kneecap, which placed her left foot on top of my right, and I again said       "STEP ON MY FOOT!" (or PRESS MY FOOT! or something of that nature) and (here's       the most important        part) I *felt* her *press* her left foot on top of my right upon the brake       pedal! This is where the dream immediately ended. (I felt *her pressing* her       foot, *as well as* my foot *being pressed* as *one* combined / unified       feeling.)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
