   The hunger analogy is interesting √  Are you stocking up your pantry with   
   non-perishables?   
      
   I understand unpainted / unstained wood (I prefer the natural clear coat that   
   has UV protection) --there's nothing prettier than a wood deck right after   
   it's been power-washed back to "nude."  Of course, getting "pressure treated"   
   wood to build it is KEY!   
     Untreated, unpainted wood in the sun will eventually deteriorate.
