   Just a hunch:  you were visiting a version of your younger self, a younger you   
   who may have been looking for some direction from her older-self.  Just a   
   hunch.  Meanwhile, "neutral" color to me means anything from mud-or-shit-brown   
   to shades of gray.     
   Consider me not so much "color blind" as "fashion blind."
