From: dicksilk@gmail.com              Tue Feb 8 10:49 AM       Been having a LOT of dreams of late, so much so that journaling all of them       would take up most of my day. Thus, I'm trying to limit my time writing them       to "the unusual" or "important" type dreams. One of those occurred this       morning, near dawn I        imagine, although I didn't put down a "time stamp." It was *likely* after       [having let the dog out around 5:40 AM and returning to bed *after* she came       back in.]              I've often pondered the problem of F^2 regarding generational population: if       person 1 (F2^0) has 2 unique parents (F2^1) and 4 (presumably) unique       grandparents (F2^2) and 8 great-grandparents (F2^3) then going back 100       generations (to roughly the time        of Christ) would yield 1.26765060023e+30 theoretically "unique" individuals.        That's 1 nonillion, 267 octillion, 650 septillion, 600 sextillion,       230-something quintillion, quadrillion, trillion, billion, million, hundred       thousand (etc.) "unique"        ancestors.              I'd realized this some years (decades?) back and thought I'd try to get around       to seeing how the numbers could CONVERGE rather than DIVERGE, so I started out       with 8 great-grandparents, consisting of (theoretically) 4 men and 4 women.        Of that set, they        could theoretically be *from* 2 brothers (men) and 2 sisters (women) thus       coming from 1 man and 1 woman. (Who actually had what at this point is       basically a hodgepodge, as we're only counting bodies, not relations.) So now       the relationship of the 1 man        and 1 woman IS of some importance, as the woman in Abraham's case (Sarah) is a       source of some interest, as her parentage is apparently NOT stated in the       Bible (at least not that I was able to find, looking through Genesis Chapters       12–13.) But rather        than get "hung up" at a specific generation, let's go back to the Genesis       telling of Adam and Eve and use them as "models", wherein the parents of the 2       men and 2 women in the model are at LEAST one man and one woman. In thinking       of THEIR parents, at        LEAST one man came to mind, whereas the woman could be either a sister or       half-sister or cousin, but the premise was that these were the first two model       humans, so *WHERE DID* the woman come from?              "God" was the only answer that came to me, and at that moment, I had a       SNAPSHOT vision of a valley, and rather than throw a bunch of adjectives at it       to describe how beautiful, peaceful, or serene it was (is) I'll instead try to       record in writing what I        saw in the vision:              The "valley" was shaped by the "void" formed between two mountains, one on the       left, and one on the right. Although the sun itself was not seen, the setting       was daytime, and "perfectly lit" as in not too bright, not too dim, and the       air seemed *barely*        misty, as if possibly right after sunrise, which would explain why the       mountain to the left (west) was better illuminated (provided the vision's       perspective was South looking North) as I can barely recall the mountain to       the east as being other than in "       shadow." In fact, the view of this valley "popped" me awake, at which point       the thought occurred to me that I had "emerged from" the "shadow of the valley       of death" and did, in fact, feel thankful to have seen it and "come through       it" as it were.              Could that have been the scene viewed when exiting the Garden of Eden?        Regardless, I felt THIS dream was *considerably* worth journaling this morning!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
