|    2022-02-18 Friday: The Key (to One's Hea    |

From: dicksilk@gmail.com              Had a dream somewhere between 3 and 9 AM, involving the dreamer being given /       handed an ornate key. Although the person giving me the key seemed female,       there was not a very good view of her as the focus was upon the key being       presented. There was a        type of maternal sense to her and the key, but the view simply wasn't "aimed"       / directed in a manner to identify her (as either being Gina or not.) The       key, however, being the "object OF the dream," literally, possibly       symbolically as well, had a "head"        to the key (the area one holds above the shaft) that was heart-shaped, roughly       ¾"–1 square inch in surface area, slightly bigger than a typical house key       (possibly due to "Biden-flation"?) and had a few qualities / properties that       were observed: 1)        old, possibly in the age of "antique." 2) it had a "wooden" feel to it, as if       it were hand-crafted, possibly as a work of art, yet still functional. 3) A       "3-D" appearance to it, as if the "front" side of the heart-shape were convex       (slightly rounded        outward, like a magnifying glass) and also dark-brownish in color, possibly of       "old blood," but whether old blood was used for the coloring or not is an       *entirely* different matter. The dreamer was simply "engaged" with the beauty       of the object. The        back side was relatively flat by comparison, although the edges around the       head of the key were maybe 1/16th of an inch thick, and rounded, so that there       were no sharp edges along the head of the key. The backside also had a       light-brown to golden        texture to it, NOT polished perfectly smooth, yet somewhat "mottled" as if       were possibly from weathered wood or possibly skin (such as the surface of a       leather belt, which although some belts may be shiny smooth, others are       somewhat "mottled" / textured.)              There was a question in the dreamer's mind as to what this key went to, as if       it were jogging something in the back of the dreamer's mind. This       "presentation of the key" took place in an area that, IRL, would be akin to       standing in the area of the        fireplace in the living room/den of the house my father built at Scottland       Drive. The dreamer was facing the fireplace (westward) but as Scottland Drive       runs a very few degrees east of true north (this may be observed at night when       looking at the        northern pole star, Polaris) and the dreamer was facing a few degrees north of       the fireplace, the dreamer was facing somewhere along that WWNW direction. To       the dreamer's right (towards north) was a small chest (smaller than my AIWA       reel-to-reel player)        but the idea that the key may have gone to the chest seemed incorrect. Nor       was it the key to Mom's cedar chest out in the garage. The phrase "key to my       heart" / "key to your mother's heart" was sensed, however. As I began to stir       from that dream, I        contemplated the turning of a key clockwise (as locking a deadbolt on a door)       or counterclockwise (unlocking) however, that particular orientation *often*       depends upon the lock itself. Many locks (deadbolts) are designed so as to       "push" the bolt (over        the top of the turn) into the doorframe, so clockwise / counter-clockwise may       depend entirely upon which side one's door is hinged, and how "attune" the       locksmith is (or was) who installed the deadbolt. Either way, I felt that       musing about the direction        in which a key turns was drifting off the focus of the purpose of the key       itself. NOTE that the key seemed more "wooden" than "metallic." Clarity of       the dream was between 7 and 9.              Just a *quick* mention, there was a dream clip involving the character,       "Newkirk" (from the 1960s TV series, Hogan's Heroes) which was *       haracter*-oriented, NOT actor (Richard Dawson) oriented. Can't recall       anything else about the clip, however.              There was another dream closer to waking, involving a piece of property out in       a rural setting, involving water retention within a certain area, as to       whether it was due to flooding or to [intentional retention.] (Play on words       here done for fun while        typing.) The area "felt" like the property east of Asbury lane, across the       street from my old home at 3050, back *before* someone moved a house onto that       lot. Regardless, that was simply the "feel" for the place. In retrospect,       there was very little (       if anything) similar to the actual location IRL. Clarity 8-, as really       nothing of the plot seems to have survived morning "evaporation" (what happens       to dreams after waking, when one simply cannot recall anything else about it /       them.)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
