   NOTE:  the female astride a log brings to mind *at the very least* the concept   
   of yin-yang: pure contrast.  I'm a bit curious as to how this dream qualifies   
   as a "nightmare"?  Was this particular ex *that bad?*

   Could there have been the possibility of a water falls nearby?  (That would   
   explain it.  Either that, or the engineer represents the character of an   
   incompetent masquerading as a professional.)

   There are a number of TV shows on some of the "other" cable channels,   
   involving home-building, such as "living off the grid."   
      
   This dream brings such an episode to mind (not an exact episode, but the theme   
   in general)— that being of living independently of the "controlling   
   political forces" in any given area.
