   In the days of USENET yore, one definition of spam was (re)posting   
   advertisements with no intention of replying to responses.   
      
   So if someone made a post about their widgets, and someone asked a   
   question in response to that post, and the original poster replied to the   
   question, that wasn't spam.  (It still might violate the charter of the   
   newsgroup, but it wouldn't have been spam.)   
      
   What you propose, when you say your future writings will only show up on   
   your web site, would meet that old definition of spam _if_ you're posting   
   ads in the newsfroup.  You would be breaking faith with the very culture   
   that allowed you to become Internet-famous in the first place.
