I disagree and that's ok but in this debate I set a starting point on
which there should be some commonality. We both know there is no
starting point between Gary and I because his allegiance isn't with
America, it's with an ideology separate from Federalism and his
   separation from God is infinite.

Gary looks to some rule/law in which requires a citizen to conform too
other wise he'll take it to mean he can do it in the street.

Since there's no law to force him to pledge allegiance to the flag or
to which it stands, Gary's free not too. He wouldn't honor that law
anyway because of his nature to rebel against higher authority. What's
in a flag? It's an object of repression, slavery and bigotry to him.
People who swear allegiance to the flag in my opinion do not need a
law to stay within the boundaries of civility, morality or for 'which'
   the flag stands.

To me the pledge and the flag are much more than words or objects. The
Pledge of Allegiance symbolizes unity of purpose, one nation with a
common goal, indivisible and yes, under God.

I'm of the school where there's something greater than me. I serve a
greater purpose and my own needs. I know that God requires much of me
and he expects payment back for what He has given me to sew...so to
   speak.

I know Gary has no allegiance to anyone but his own selfish needs. Who
does he have to serve? Without a higher purpose, life is shallow and
   disappointing.

With a higher purpose the focus of life is on serving others.

It's the difference between Mitt Romney and Obama.
