When did I *ever* say *any* of those things? Of course there is waste in
the government, just like there is waste at my local grocery store. And,
I applaud efforts to evaluate programs for their need and efficiency, and
making changes where appropriate. (Like THAT ever happens! Isn't
there still some tax on the books that was passed to finance the
Spanish-American war?) However, to think that we can eliminate the deficit
by cutting programs is ridiculous. The GOP's slavish adherence to the idea
that we must never raise taxes under any circumstances is absurd, and only
serves the interests of the ultra-wealthy, at the expense of everyone
else. It's pretty much the opposite of "punishing...honest and hard
   working people", as you claim.

In other news, my 23 year old son was looking through our collection of
recorded movies last night, and decided to re-watch "Aliens". I wasn't
really paying attention, but when I heard Sigourney Weaver say, "We'll
nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.", it made me think of
   you. Gruesome, eh?
