f9b532e8       From: e-mail.me@from.BRmovie.com              Standing in the dark, rainy shadows of a city alleyway, I spied the       Replicant andy7 covertly transmitting a message to renegade friends in       alt.fan.blade-runner. Tracking...              >I originally saw these on Japanese sites(HLJ.com) for about $40 - $50,       >and double that with shipping. The main American site to sell them was       >called Toy Syndicate, and they also sold the 12" Android Hunter and       >Android 001 figures, as well as the Spinner Dokuhon book. They sold       >them for $70 - $80. I have picked them up for under $50, and usually       >see them on ebay sell for around $75-150.       >       >The spinner was shown in BTTF as both a black vehicle on the city       >streets, and as a multicolored vehicle in a neighbor to future       >McFly's, in their drive way. I guess this was the only way a big toy       >company like Medicom could sell the car without getting sued by WB and       >the BR partnership, by licensing it with another movie.              I believe that is correct - its use in BTTF gave a door in - just like       the old BR game "based on the music". Thankfully I bought this       Spinner when it was new, so am happy about that. Picking them up mint       for less than the new price requires some diligence and a little luck,       but as with all memorabilia, if you put in some effort, you can "get       lucky".              >All the hoopla over the FC DVD sets seems to be bringing out the       >scalpers and opportunists.              Well, they've been around a while.              Netrunner              --       The newsgroup website is www.BRmovie.com       Home of the Blade Runner FAQ, Encyclopedia,       News, Comic, Magazine, Fan Fiction, Profiles,       Related books/movies and much more!       --              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
