|    Esper scene - what's the point?    |

From: blank@nothing.com              Okay, so after watching the FC 4 times (3 with the different       commentaries), it's really stuck out to me that Deckard learns       absolutely nothing from the Esper scene at all, and while looking cool,       it's kind of pointless.              He finds the scale in the bath. Hetakes it to animoid row to check it       out, follows the trail to ben Hassan, Taffy Lewis and then Zhora. He       didn't need to look at the photos at all. What do they give him? A       picture of Zhora's face? He already knew what she looked like.              Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how it helps Deckard at all.       I think its purpose must have somehow been negated as the script       evolved, but the scene stayed. It would make perfect sense if the       department had been unable to show Deckard any images of the escape reps.              I can't be the first person to bring this up here, surely?              LH              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
