   Yeah, but there's no reason that lossy mp3 couldn't eventually be   
   replaced by a file format that's exactly as good as CDs. I mean, those   
   lossless formats exist already and you can buy music in them here and   
   there, people just tend to want smaller filesizes for now. I wouldn't be   
   surprized if what you're buying from itunes several years from now is as   
   good as sacd/dvda ever was, simply because they'll hit a sweet spot   
   regarding bandwidth/filesize/cost.
