   Yah, I have seen several IMAX films, proper IMAX format ones, but only   
   the 45 minute documentaries. The local IMAX theatre closed down many   
   years ago though, just at the point that IMAX theatres started showing   
   regular feature films, but as pointed out, they're not really filmed in   
   any high definition format, they're just blown up from 35mm with some   
   algorithms to make them upscale nice. I DID see fantasia 2000 at the   
   imax- that was the only proper feature they showed before it closed down.   
      
   Good news is that the theatre has recently re-opened and is run by the   
   local art house cinema which is right near it - it's not proper IMAX,   
   they just use the cinema itself to show regular films in 35mm, but it's   
   still pretty nice.   
      
   I'd really love to see something like Lawrence of Arabia or 2001 in   
   proper 70mm.
