   I've been to that horrible place where you think you might have lost   
   something irreplaceable (though luckily being a "computer guy" didn't   
   actually lose), but there is absolutely nothing like that to make you   
   realize just how vital it is to make REGULAR backing up data as   
   important as brushing your teeth.  Not to mention those recovery   
   discs, etc.  Remember, Disaster Recovery is all about planning   
   beforehand, NOT wishing afterwards.  And especially with those digital   
   photos that only exist digitally - don't lose them!   
      
   You have backed up your data haven't you?  I mean, after I screamed at   
   you and begged of a God that doesn't even exist, you did make sure you   
   have current backups right?  Because if you didn't, you're stupid.
