   I've been listening to the audiobook - books for lazy people - verison of   
   Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything. Highly recommended for   
   those who have the slightest interest in their planet and beyond, and those   
   with a love of the history of science. Although I suspect a large proportion   
   of those here will have already read it.
